Assistance League founder, Anne Banning, always felt that it was fine to serve youth, but better to let youth serve. So in the 1930's she called on the daughters and granddaughters of Assistance League members to assist in various philanthropic projects.
We are proud to continue to encourage and provide volunteer opportunities for today's youth. Assisteens membership is open to young people in grades 7 to 12. The aims of participation are to develop a sense of community responsibility, self-reliance, personal responsibility, poise, public speaking and leadership skills.
Assisteens Auxiliary of Assistance League of Temecula Valley was formed in 1993. Assisteens seeks to instill the values of volunteerism and service within the community.
Assisteens raise money to fund ongoing philanthropic programs to benefit the community. Assisteens' philanthropic program is Operation Book Worm. With proceeds from fundraising, new books are purchased for children who are clothed by Operation School Bell®.
Assisteens' main priority is to raise money to fund their philanthropic program, Operation Book Worm.
(Activities change from year to year, determined by the board and members.)
